3,5-Diiodo-4-hydroxybenzoic acid
Based on 1 publication(s) in Google Scholar
3,5‑Diiodo‑4‑hydroxybenzoic acid (DIHB) is a plant growth regulator that alleviates the inhibition of plant root elongation under various stress conditions. 3,5-Diiodo-4-hydroxybenzoic acid promotes root elongation under conditions of adequate oxygen supply, absence of stress, and no mechanical impedance, increases the effective cell wall extensibility factor, and promotes root/stem growth in plants in compacted or loose soil; it exhibits lower activity under oxygen stress. 3,5-Diiodo-4-hydroxybenzoic acid can be used in research related to plant growth regulation.

Description
In Vitro
3,5-Diiodo-4-hydroxybenzoic acid significantly promotes root elongation of barley and pea seedlings in compacted soil (bulk density 1.5 g/cm3) and alleviates root bending and root tip thickening in pea; the growth-promoting effect weakens as soil water content increases[2].
3,5‑Diiodo‑4‑hydroxybenzoic acid (DIHB) increases barley root elongation by 26 %, 14 %, and 54 % under non-stress, mechanical impedance (25 kPa), and hypoxia (5 % oxygen) conditions, respectively; DIHB has no significant effect on the elastic modulus, osmotic potential, or turgor pressure of wheat and pea root tips[3].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
