4-Hydrazinobenzoic acid
Based on 1 Customer Validation
4-Hydrazinobenzoic acid (p-Hydrazinobenzoic acid) is a DNA-damaging agent. 4-Hydrazinobenzoic acid induces copper-dependent oxidative damage, accompanied by strand breaks and base modifications; autoxidation generates hydrogen peroxide and cuprous ion-derived ROS. 4-Hydrazinobenzoic acid is cytotoxic to cancer cells and normal cells. 4-Hydrazinobenzoic acid can be used in cancer research.

In Vitro
4-Hydrazinobenzoic acid (concentration-dependent) combined with Cu (II) increases the formation of 8-oxodG in calf thymus DNA, whereas catalase prevents this increase[2].
4-Hydrazinobenzoic acid (20 µM; 60 min) induces Cu (II)-dependent DNA damage in 32P-labeled human p53 and p16 tumor suppressor gene fragments, and 20 µM gives rise to H2O2/Cu (I)-mediated T/C piperidine-labile sites, whereas at high concentrations combined with catalase it causes non-oxidative A/G/C sites[3].
