Malpighiaceae Extract

Tetrahydroharmine (Leptaflorine) is a selective reversible monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) inhibitor with an IC₅₀ of 74 nM. Tetrahydroharmine can be used for the research of parkinson’s disease.

α-Amyrenone is a triterpenoid that occurs naturally in very low concentrations in several oleoresins from Brazilian Amazon species of Protium (Burseraceae). The mixture of α and β-amyrenone inhibits α-glucosidase, and can reduce mechanical hypersensitivity and paw-oedema induced by carrageenan.

Correolide is a pentacyclic nortriterpene isolated from Spachea correa. Correolide blocks Kv1 family voltage-gated potassium channels (Kv1.3 K_d = 90 nM) and acts on the inner pore between the selectivity filter and the activation gate, thereby inhibiting T cell proliferation and modulating vascular tone. Correolide can be used in research on delayed-type hypersensitivity and autoimmune diseases.

(-)-3-O-Acetylcatechin is a Leishmania amazonensis arginase inhibitor with an IC₅₀ of 3.7 μM. (-)-3-O-Acetylcatechin can be used for the research of leishmaniasis.
