Aquacobalamin

Aquacobalamin is an orally active cobalamin (vitamin B12) derivative. Aquacobalamin acts as an antidote to exert neuroprotective, anticonvulsant, and promyelinating effects. Aquacobalamin exhibits condition-dependent bidirectional redox regulatory functions within cells (antioxidant scavenging of superoxide anions or pro-oxidant induction of cell apoptosis), and possesses weak antitumor activity. Aquacobalamin can be used in research on convulsions, cyanide poisoning, cancer, and hepatitis.
