4-Hydroxyacetophenone monooxygenase
Definition:
EC Tree > 1 Oxidoreductases > 1.14 Acting on paired donors, with incorporation or reduction of molecular oxygen > 1.14.13 With NADH or NADPH as one donor, and incorporation of one atom of oxygen into the other donor > 1.14.13.84 4-hydroxyacetophenone monooxygenase
4-Hydroxyacetophenone monooxygenase contains FAD; the Pseudomonas fluorescens ACB enzyme oxidizes a wide range of acetophenone derivatives, highest on para-electron-donating substituents; without substrate it acts as an NAD(P)H oxidase. It converts (4-hydroxyphenyl)ethan-1-one with NADPH and O2 into 4-hydroxyphenyl acetate (Baeyer-Villiger), releasing H2O and NADP+.
