(+)-Camphene synthase
Definition:
EC Tree > 4 Lyases > 4.2 Carbon-oxygen lyases > 4.2.3 Acting on phosphates > 4.2.3.116 (+)-camphene synthase
(+)-Camphene synthase is a Mg2+-preferring monoterpene cyclase. Cyclase I of Salvia officinalis gives about equal parts (+)-camphene and (+)-alpha-pinene; (3R)-linalyl diphosphate is preferred over (3S)-linalyl diphosphate. See also EC 4.2.3.121. It cyclizes geranyl diphosphate into (+)-camphene and diphosphate. It appears in viruses and cellular organisms. Structurally it is a monoterpene cyclase.
