Adenosine-tetraphosphatase
Definition:
EC Tree > 3 Hydrolases > 3.6 Acting on acid anhydrides > 3.6.1 In phosphorus-containing anhydrides > 3.6.1.14 adenosine-tetraphosphatase
Nucleoside-triphosphate phosphatase is a phosphohydrolase found in eukaryotes and thermophilic bacteria but apparently absent from mesophilic bacteria; it also hydrolyzes nucleoside diphosphates, thiamine diphosphate and FAD. The pea (Pisum sativum) enzyme is regulated by calmodulin. It hydrolyzes a nucleoside triphosphate into a nucleoside diphosphate and phosphate. In cells it controls NTP levels. It features a phosphatase fold.
