Adenosyl-fluoride synthase is a fluorinating enzyme. It transfers the 5'-deoxyadenosyl group of S-adenosyl-L-methionine onto fluoride, releasing L-methionine and forming 5'-deoxy-5'-fluoroadenosine. It is a rare biological C-F bond-forming enzyme found in actinomycete secondary metabolism. It occurs in viruses and cellular organisms.
