Vipera ammodytes ammodytes metalloproteinase VaH3 is a hemorrhagic zinc metalloendopeptidase from the nose-horned viper Vipera ammodytes ammodytes. It cleaves the Lys413-/-Leu414 bond of the human fibrinogen alpha chain, and cleaves Ala14-/-Leu15 and more slowly Tyr16-/-Leu17 in the insulin B chain. In venom it causes hemorrhage and defibrinogenation. It features an M12-family zinc catalytic domain.
