Allene-oxide cyclase

Definition:

EC Tree > 5 Isomerases > 5.3 Intramolecular oxidoreductases > 5.3.99 Other intramolecular oxidoreductases > 5.3.99.6 allene-oxide cyclase
Allene-oxide cyclase converts allene oxides formed by EC 4.2.1.92 hydroperoxide dehydratase into cyclopentenone derivatives (e.g. jasmonate precursors). It converts (9Z)-(13S)-12,13-epoxyoctadeca-9,11,15-trienoate into (15Z)-12-oxophyto-10,15-dienoate (12-oxo-PDA). It is found in Eukaryota and Bacteria. Structurally it is an AOS-like cyclase.
