ATP deaminase
Definition:
EC Tree > 3 Hydrolases > 3.5 Acting on carbon-nitrogen bonds, other than peptide bonds > 3.5.4 In cyclic amidines > 3.5.4.18 ATP deaminase
Phosphoribosyl-AMP cyclohydrolase is a histidine-biosynthesis enzyme found in bacteria, eukaryotes and archaea; the Neurospora crassa enzyme also catalyzes EC 1.1.1.23 and EC 3.6.1.31. It hydrolyzes 1-(5-phospho-beta-D-ribosyl)-AMP into 1-(5-phospho-beta-D-ribosyl)-5-[(5-phospho-beta-D-ribosylamino)methylideneamino]imidazole-4-carboxamide. In histidine biosynthesis it opens the purine ring. It features a cyclohydrolase fold.
