Atrochrysone synthase
Definition:
EC Tree > 4 Lyases > 4.1 Carbon-carbon lyases > 4.1.1 Carboxy-lyases > 4.1.1.131 atrochrysone synthase
Atrochrysone synthase was isolated from the mold Aspergillus fumigatus; some organisms forming (3R)-atrochrysone lack the enzyme and the uncatalyzed reaction is sufficient. It decarboxylates (3R)-atrochrysone-2-carboxylate into (3R)-atrochrysone and CO2. in polyketide pigment biosynthesis it closes the anthraquinone. It features a decarboxylase fold.
