Beta-diketone hydrolase
Definition:
EC Tree > 3 Hydrolases > 3.7 Acting on carbon-carbon bonds > 3.7.1 In ketonic substances > 3.7.1.7 beta-diketone hydrolase
Beta-diketone hydrolase also acts on the product of EC 1.1.3.18 secondary-alcohol oxidase on polyvinyl alcohols and participates in bacterial polyvinyl alcohol degradation. It hydrolyzes nonane-4,6-dione into pentan-2-one and butanoate. In PVA degradation it cleaves the diketone. It features a C-C hydrolase fold.
