EC Tree > 2 Transferases > 2.5 Transferring alkyl or aryl groups, other than methyl groups > 2.5.1 Transferring alkyl or aryl groups, other than methyl groups (only sub-subclass identified to date) > 2.5.1.51 beta-pyrazolylalanine synthase
Beta-pyrazolylalanine synthase is a Citrullus lanatus non-proteinogenic amino acid synthase. It is highly specific for O-acetyl-L-serine and pyrazole, condensing them and releasing acetate to form 3-(pyrazol-1-yl)-L-alanine. It is distinct from EC 2.5.1.52 L-mimosine synthase.
