EC Tree > 1 Oxidoreductases > 1.1 Acting on the CH-OH group of donors > 1.1.1 With NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor > 1.1.1.438 cis-4-hydroxycyclohexanecarboxylate dehydrogenase
Cis-4-hydroxycyclohexanecarboxylate dehydrogenase is an NAD+-dependent oxidoreductase from the bacterium Sinomonas cyclohexanicum (formerly Corynebacterium cyclohexanicum). It is highly specific for the cis-4-hydroxy derivative, oxidizing cis-4-hydroxycyclohexane-1-carboxylate to 4-oxocyclohexane-1-carboxylate while reducing NAD+ to NADH and releasing H+; it is distinguished from the trans-specific enzyme EC 1.1.1.226.
