Crossover junction endodeoxyribonuclease
Definition:
EC Tree > 3 Hydrolases > 3.1 Acting on ester bonds > 3.1.21 Endodeoxyribonucleases producing 5'-phosphomonoesters > 3.1.21.10 crossover junction endodeoxyribonuclease
Crossover junction endodeoxyribonuclease (resolvase) is the Holliday-junction-resolving endonuclease. It specifically cleaves reciprocal single-strand crossovers between homologous DNA duplexes (Holliday junctions), with no activity on ss/ds DNA lacking junctions. It occurs in viruses and cellular organisms.
