Cu2+-exporting ATPase
Definition:
EC Tree > 3 Hydrolases > 3.6 Acting on acid anhydrides > 3.6.3 Acting on acid anhydrides to catalyse transmembrane movement of substances > 3.6.3.4 Cu2+-exporting ATPase
Cu2+-exporting ATPase is a P-type ATPase that becomes covalently phosphorylated during transport; the enzyme from the thermophilic archaeon Archaeoglobus fulgidus is involved in copper extrusion from the cell. It hydrolyzes ATP to pump Cu+/Cu2+ out. In cells it effluxes copper. It features a P1B-type ATPase.
