EC Tree > 3 Hydrolases > 3.2 Glycosylases > 3.2.1 Glycosidases, i.e. enzymes that hydrolyse O- and S-glycosyl compounds > 3.2.1.54 cyclomaltodextrinase
Cyclomaltodextrinase is a cyclodextrin-degrading glycosidase that hydrolyses cyclomaltodextrin into linear maltodextrin, and also hydrolyses linear maltodextrin. By opening the cyclic alpha-1,4-glucan it supports bacterial utilisation of cyclodextrins. It is distributed across Bacteria, Eukaryota and Archaea.
