Deacetylipecoside synthase is a Pictet-Spenglerase from leaves of Alangium lamarckii, found in viruses and cellular organisms, with enantiomeric specificity opposite to EC 3.5.99.15; the product is rapidly converted to demethylalangiside. It condenses dopamine with secologanin (written in the reverse direction). In the plant it builds ipecoside alkaloids. It features a Pictet-Spenglerase fold.
