Diglucosylarchaeol synthase is an archaeal membrane lipid glycosyltransferase found in Archaea and Eukaryota. It transfers a second beta-D-glucosyl residue from UDP-alpha-D-glucose onto the 6-hydroxyl of the glucose already attached to 1,2-diphytanyl-sn-glycero-3-O-beta-D-glucoside, releasing UDP and forming 1,2-diphytanyl-sn-glycero-3-O-(6-O-beta-D-glucosyl)-beta-D-glucoside, a diglucosyl archaeol.
