Dimethylnonatriene synthase is an Arabidopsis thaliana/maize Zea mays cytochrome P-450 that, on herbivore attack, cleaves (3S,6E)-nerolidol to the C11 homoterpene (3E)-4,8-dimethylnona-1,3,7-triene plus but-3-en-2-one; in vitro it also converts geranyllinalool to TMTT (EC 1.14.14.58).
