EB-3
Definition:
EB-3 is a human Burkitt lymphoma-derived cell line associated with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and early electron-microscopy studies detected herpesvirus-like particles in its cultures and examined EB-2 and EB-3 cells after growth in infant rats[1][3]. Later comparisons classified EB-3 among EBV-positive Burkitt lymphoma lines and showed long telomere restriction fragments despite telomerase activity comparable with other Burkitt lymphoma lines[2]. EB-3 has consequently been used to study EBV particle biology, lymphoma ultrastructure, telomere dynamics, and virus-associated B-cell phenotypes in experimental systems, although the available papers provide limited donor-level origin information.
