Streptothricin hydrolase is a hydrolase found in viruses and cellular organisms that also hydrolyzes streptothricin-D to streptothricin-D acid; it is responsible for streptothricin resistance in Streptomyces albulus and Streptomyces noursei. It hydrolyzes streptothricin-F into streptothricin-F acid. In producer streptomycetes it self-protects against the antibiotic. It features a hydrolase fold.
