Definition:
EC Tree > 3 Hydrolases > 3.1 Acting on ester bonds > 3.1.21 Endodeoxyribonucleases producing 5'-phosphomonoesters > 3.1.21.B1 endonuclease Q
Endonuclease Q is the deaminated-DNA-repair endonuclease. It cleaves the phosphodiester bond 5' from deoxyinosine (also deoxyuridine, 7-deazaxanthosine and AP sites), forming 5'-phosphate and 3'-OH termini. Expected in Bacteria, Archaea and Eukaryota.
