ES-2
Definition:
ES-2 is a human ovarian clear cell carcinoma cell line used to investigate the biology and treatment response of ovarian clear cell carcinoma[1][2]. ES-2 cells show tumor-forming capacity in xenograft settings and have been used in intraperitoneal and orthotopic ovarian cancer models, where tumor histology and implantation-site effects can be evaluated[2]. Mechanistic studies demonstrated that mitochondrial superoxide dismutase 2 supports ES-2 proliferation, migration, spheroid attachment, metabolic activity, Akt phosphorylation, tumor growth, and metastatic behavior through control of reactive oxygen species[1], while the cited literature does not provide a complete donor history for this line.
