Flavivirin
Definition:
EC Tree > 3 Hydrolases > 3.4 Acting on peptide bonds (peptidases) > 3.4.21 Serine endopeptidases > 3.4.21.91 Flavivirin
Flavivirin is a flavivirus serine protease in family S7 encoded by yellow-fever and dengue viruses, with the functional viral peptidase part of NS2B; catalytic His, Asp and Ser are arranged as in chymotrypsin, and it selectively hydrolyses Xaa-Xaa-Yaa bonds in which each Xaa is Arg or Lys and Yaa is Ser or Ala. By processing the flavivirus polyprotein it drives viral replication.
