GDP-glucosidase
Definition:
EC Tree > 3 Hydrolases > 3.2 Glycosylases > 3.2.1 Glycosidases, i.e. enzymes that hydrolyse O- and S-glycosyl compounds > 3.2.1.42 GDP-glucosidase
GDP-glucosidase is a nucleotide-sugar-hydrolysing glycosidase from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which hydrolyses GDP-glucose into D-glucose and GDP. By cleaving the activated nucleotide sugar it regulates the cellular pool of GDP-glucose. It is taxonomically restricted to Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
