Hydropyrenol synthase
Definition:
EC Tree > 4 Lyases > 4.2 Carbon-oxygen lyases > 4.2.3 Acting on phosphates > 4.2.3.202 hydropyrenol synthase
Hydropyrenol synthase is a diterpene cyclase isolated from Streptomyces clavuligerus. The 1-pro-R hydrogen of geranylgeranyl diphosphate is lost; it also produces hydropyrene, isoelisabethatriene and traces of other diterpenoids (cf. EC 4.2.3.201 and EC 4.2.3.203). With water it converts geranylgeranyl diphosphate into hydropyrenol and diphosphate. It is found in Eukaryota and Bacteria. Structurally it is a diterpene cyclase.
