Ipsdienol dehydrogenase is involved in pheromone production by the pine engraver beetle Ips pini. Using NAD(P)+, it oxidizes (R)-ipsdienol to ipsdienone, concomitantly reducing NAD(P)+ to NAD(P)H and releasing H+.
