Kojibiose phosphorylase is a glycoside phosphorylase from Thermoanaerobacter brockii. It catalyzes the reversible phosphorolysis of kojibiose (2-alpha-D-glucosyl-D-glucose), releasing D-glucose and beta-D-glucose 1-phosphate. It also acts more slowly on alpha-1,2-oligoglucans such as selaginose, but is inactive on sophorose, trehalose, neotrehalose, nigerose, laminaribiose, maltose, cellobiose, isomaltose, gentiobiose, sucrose or lactose. It occurs in Bacteria, Eukaryota and Archaea.
