Kunzeaol synthase is a sesquiterpene cyclase isolated from roots of Thapsia garganica. With water it cyclizes (2E,6E)-farnesyl diphosphate into kunzeaol and diphosphate, also producing germacrene D, bicyclogermacrene and traces of other sesquiterpenoids (see EC 4.2.3.77 and EC 4.2.3.100). It appears in viruses and cellular organisms. Structurally it is a sesquiterpene cyclase.
