Labdatriene synthase
Definition:
EC Tree > 4 Lyases > 4.2 Carbon-oxygen lyases > 4.2.3 Acting on phosphates > 4.2.3.99 labdatriene synthase
Labdatriene synthase from rice (Oryza sativa), expressed in E. coli, also produces ent-sandaracopimara-8(14),15-diene from ent-copalyl diphosphate (another natural copalyl isomer in rice; cf. EC 4.2.3.29). It cyclizes 9alpha-copalyl diphosphate into (12E)-9alpha-labda-8(17),12,14-triene and diphosphate. Structurally it is a rice diterpene cyclase.
