Linalool isomerase
Definition:
EC Tree > 5 Isomerases > 5.4 Intramolecular transferases > 5.4.4 Transferring hydroxy groups > 5.4.4.8 linalool isomerase
Linalool isomerase was isolated from Thauera linaloolentis grown on (RS)-linalool as sole carbon source. Unlike EC 5.4.4.4 geraniol isomerase (which acts only on (S)-linalool), this enzyme acts equally well on both enantiomers. It isomerizes (RS)-linalool into geraniol. Structurally it is a bacterial terpene isomerase.
