Lupeol synthase

Lupeol synthase also forms some β-amyrin; the recombinant Arabidopsis thaliana enzyme gives a 1:1 mixture of lupeol and lupan-3β,20-diol with small amounts of β-amyrin, germanicol, taraxasterol and ψ-taraxasterol (see EC 4.2.1.128). It cyclizes (3S)-2,3-epoxy-2,3-dihydrosqualene into lupeol. It appears in viruses and cellular organisms. Structurally it is an OSC.
