Mannuronate reductase
Definition:
EC Tree > 1 Oxidoreductases > 1.1 Acting on the CH-OH group of donors > 1.1.1 With NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor > 1.1.1.131 mannuronate reductase
Mannuronate reductase catalyzes the NAD(P)H-dependent reduction of D-mannuronate to D-mannonate, with the concomitant oxidation of NAD(P)H to NAD(P)+; written in the oxidative direction, D-mannonate is oxidized to D-mannuronate while NAD(P)+ is reduced to NAD(P)H and H+ is released. It has been reported from Aeromonas sp.
