Guanidinopropionase is a manganese-dependent hydrolase found in eukaryotes and bacteria that also acts more slowly on taurocyamine and 4-guanidinobutanoate. It hydrolyzes 3-guanidinopropanoate into beta-alanine and urea. In cells it cleaves guanidinopropionate. It requires Mn2+.
