Myrcene synthase
Definition:
EC Tree > 4 Lyases > 4.2 Carbon-oxygen lyases > 4.2.3 Acting on phosphates > 4.2.3.15 myrcene synthase
Myrcene synthase is a recombinant monoterpene synthase/cyclase from Abies grandis requiring Mn2+ and K+; Mg2+ is essentially ineffective. It cyclizes geranyl diphosphate into myrcene and diphosphate. It appears in viruses and cellular organisms. Structurally it is a plant monoterpene cyclase.
