Opheline kinase
Definition:
EC Tree > 2 Transferases > 2.7 Transferring phosphorus-containing groups > 2.7.3 Phosphotransferases with a nitrogenous group as acceptor > 2.7.3.7 opheline kinase
Opheline kinase is the Ophelia neglecta phosphagen-family enzyme. It transfers the gamma-phosphoryl from ATP onto guanidinoethyl methyl phosphate, releasing ADP and N'-phosphoguanidinoethyl methylphosphate, with slight activity on taurocyamine, lombricine and phosphotaurocyamine. Expected in Ophelia neglecta.
