Definition:
EC Tree > 3 Hydrolases > 3.5 Acting on carbon-nitrogen bonds, other than peptide bonds > 3.5.1 In linear amides > 3.5.1.11 penicillin amidase
Ureidoacrylate amidohydrolase is a hydrolase found in viruses and cellular organisms, participating in the Rut pyrimidine catabolic pathway. It hydrolyzes (Z)-2-methylureidoacrylate into (Z)-2-methylaminoacrylate and carbamate (which decomposes to CO2 and ammonia), and (Z)-3-ureidoacrylate into (Z)-3-aminoacrylate and carbamate. In bacteria it recycles pyrimidines. It features an amidohydrolase fold.
