Phomopsene synthase
Definition:
EC Tree > 4 Lyases > 4.2 Carbon-oxygen lyases > 4.2.3 Acting on phosphates > 4.2.3.222 phomopsene synthase
Phomopsene synthase is a diterpene cyclase from the fungus Diaporthe amygdali; it has also been isolated from the bacteria Nocardia testacea, Nocardia rhamnosiphila and Allokutzneria albata. The A. albata enzyme also produces allokutznerene (EC 4.2.3.224) and traces of (-)-spiroviolene (EC 4.2.3.158). It cyclizes geranylgeranyl diphosphate into phomopsene and diphosphate. Structurally it is a diterpene cyclase.
