Phosphogalactosamine mutase
Definition:
EC Tree > 5 Isomerases > 5.4 Intramolecular transferases > 5.4.2 Phosphotransferases (phosphomutases) > 5.4.2.13 phosphogalactosamine mutase
Phosphogalactosamine mutase, characterized from the archaeon Sulfolobus tokodaii, is also active toward D-glucosamine 6-phosphate (cf. EC 5.4.2.10). It interconverts D-galactosamine 6-phosphate and α-D-galactosamine 1-phosphate. It is found in Archaea and Eukaryota. Structurally it is an archaeal phosphohexosamine mutase.
