Precorrin-2 dehydrogenase
Definition:
EC Tree > 1 Oxidoreductases > 1.3 Acting on the CH-CH group of donors > 1.3.1 With NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor > 1.3.1.76 precorrin-2 dehydrogenase
Precorrin-2 dehydrogenase oxidizes precorrin-2 to sirohydrochlorin with NAD+, the second step of siroheme biosynthesis from uroporphyrinogen III (after C-methylation, before Fe insertion); in S. cerevisiae Met8p and some bacteria CysG are bifunctional/multifunctional.
