EC Tree > 4 Lyases > 4.2 Carbon-oxygen lyases > 4.2.3 Acting on phosphates > 4.2.3.74 presilphiperfolanol synthase
Presilphiperfolanol synthase is a Mg2+-dependent sesquiterpene cyclase from Botrytis cinerea (Botryotinia fuckeliana), the causal agent of gray mold. With water it converts (2E,6E)-farnesyl diphosphate into presilphiperfolan-8beta-ol and diphosphate; presilphiperfolan-8beta-ol is the precursor of botrydial, a phytotoxic sesquiterpene metabolite. Structurally it is a sesquiterpene cyclase.
