Putrebactin synthase
Definition:
EC Tree > 6 Ligases > 6.3 Forming carbon-nitrogen bonds > 6.3.2 Acid—amino-acid ligases (peptide synthases) > 6.3.2.63 putrebactin synthase
Putrebactin synthase requires Mg2+. Characterized from Shewanella spp. MR-4 and MR-7, it catalyzes the last step of the cyclic dihydroxamate siderophore putrebactin biosynthesis in two stages: concatenation of two N1-hydroxy-N1-succinylputrescine molecules, then cyclization. Structurally it is an NIS-type siderophore synthetase.
