Pyrazolylalanine synthase is a pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent beta-replacement enzyme. It condenses L-serine with pyrazole, releasing water, into 3-(pyrazol-1-yl)-L-alanine, a non-proteinogenic amino acid. It appears in viruses and cellular organisms. Structurally it is a PLP-dependent beta-substitution enzyme.
