Ribonuclease IX is the ssRNA-specific endonuclease. It cleaves poly(U) and poly(C) (higher affinity for poly(C)) to fragments with 3'-OH and 5'-phosphate; no activity on poly(A) or poly(G). Expected in Bacteria and Eukaryota.
