Ribonuclease P is the tRNA 5'-maturation ribozyme. It cleaves the 5'-leader from pre-tRNA, generating mature 5'-termini; most forms contain a catalytic RNA plus protein subunits, but human mitochondrial and spinach chloroplast forms are protein-only. It occurs in viruses and cellular organisms.
