Definition:
EC Tree > 1 Oxidoreductases > 1.1 Acting on the CH-OH group of donors > 1.1.1 With NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor > 1.1.1.143 sequoyitol dehydrogenase
Sequoyitol dehydrogenase catalyzes the NAD+-dependent oxidation of 5-O-methyl-myo-inositol to 2D-5-O-methyl-2,3,5/4,6-pentahydroxycyclohexanone, concomitantly reducing NAD+ to NADH and releasing H+. It has been reported from Trifolium incarnatum.
