Stemar-13-ene synthase
Definition:
EC Tree > 4 Lyases > 4.2 Carbon-oxygen lyases > 4.2.3 Acting on phosphates > 4.2.3.33 stemar-13-ene synthase
Stemar-13-ene synthase is a diterpene cyclase that produces stemar-13-ene, the putative precursor of the rice phytoalexin oryzalexin S. Phytoalexins are diterpenoid defense metabolites produced on pathogen elicitor perception or UV exposure. It cyclizes 9alpha-copalyl diphosphate into stemar-13-ene and diphosphate. Structurally it is a rice diterpene cyclase.
