Thiamine diphosphokinase is the thiamine-activation enzyme. It transfers the beta,gamma-diphospho group from ATP onto thiamine, releasing AMP and thiamine diphosphate (TPP), the active vitamin-B1 cofactor of pyruvate/2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenases and transketolase. Expected in Eukaryota and Bacteria.
